This Mild Ale brewed by Rehn Bier is a beer made with barley grown by BVCM (Barossa Valley Craft Malt) within the Barossa Valley grape growing region. The barley is then also malted and brewed in the Barossa as defined by the Barossa Grape and Wine Association. Click on the link below.
This Mild Ale was brewed by Rehn Bier on site at 23 Magnolia St, Tanunda. Using a modern stainless steel brewing kit, head brewer Greg keeps a sharp eye on the brewing process. As per this photo like any good brewer Greg has to do his own product testing from time to time. This leads to a great beer every time and you can drop in on the guys at Rehn Bier and see it for yourself.
Clipper Barley was developed by Adelaide University in 1968 and was the dominant malting barley variety in Australia for nearly two decades. It has a great natural resistance to fungal diseases and produces a beer with superb mouth feel. The grains are also a little on the thin side so they require a bit more care from the brewer in the crush. Clipper typically will only yield 2t/Ha in the same paddock where a modern barley varieties will yield 4t/Ha. But life is too short for cheap beer, so enjoy this one!

As the crow flies this is around 15km from Rehn Bier so you are drinking a super local beer.
